It wouldn't be an Ayame shrine without atleast mentioning his best highschool friends, Sohma Shigure and Sohma Hatori. They were a trio, the Super Handsome Blossom Trio to be precise. Not too much is known about their adventures in highschool, save Hatori seemed to be the only sane, non-playboy of the three.

PERSONALITY
Hatori is the straight man in the comedy routine. The quiet one, the serious one, the one who keeps Shigure and Ayame in line. He's far from boring, however, as most of his fans will tell you. Just because he's quiet doesn't mean he's a flat character. Before his past was revealed, I was worried that he would be "one of those creepy guys" looming in the background, omniously. An evil-good guy there to enforce the rules of the Head of the Clan, someone who is easily despised but clearly not a mad scientist out to destroy Tokyo Tower. However, his past was revealed. He was capable of love, beyond the silent exterior, and was capable of crying when that love was lost. He sacrificed his eye, his love, for everyone else. When his eye was destroyed, he blamed himself for being selfish. When he had to erase his love's memory, he blamed himself for expecting too much. Even in the end, he believed that he had had his happiness in life and didn't deserve anymore. On top of that, he's very self-conscious about his transformation (mind you, the teasing from Ayame and Shigure doesn't help), as he is supposed to be the "great dragon" but is only a tiny seahorse instead. In Japanese, the word seahorse literally means baby dragon, and in mythology often seahorses grow to be great dragons.

Hatori is a great contrast to the extremes that Shigure and Ayame are. At first a bit creepy, but then revealed to be a really sweet and humble man. He's better than what he would give himself credit for, an amazing doctor, a caring cousin and a loyal agent of the Sohma clan.

PERSONALITY
The seemingly harmless perverted flirt, in the anime, is quite the deceptive type in the manga. He admits that he will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if it means hurting other people. This comes as quite a shock to many fans because he seems to be the type the resonates in between the serious, deadpan Hatori, and the flamboyant, loud Ayame. While he can join Ayame in his "performances," and has a few jokes of his own, he is capable of acting serious, although not to the extent that Hatori is able to. While it seems Shigure is the loving member of the clan who dotes on Akito, it's found out that he only turns to him when he wants to create mischief or grief. It is even rumoured that he frequently sleeps with Akito's mom just to aggravate him.

I'd like to be able to give a more accurate conclusion of his personality but it seems everything he revealed to everyone else to this point has been just a mask. He's a very cunning individual for sure, and only during glimmers of certain conversations with Ayame or Hatori does he reveal his true self and motives.
